| i went to a karate tournament last weekend. while i was usually the one who competed in these types of events, i decided that i want to try sports/action photography. i still have a lot to learn about this type of photography, it was a fun and interesting experience to photograph a sporting event. i think i'll just stick to doing karate photography and just do it for fun. i took pictures of most of my classmates. i couldn't photograph everyone from class because some of them were competing in their division(s), but i was photographing a few other classmates in other divisions. someone suggested that i did both - compete in my divisions and take photographs. however, i had absolutely no interest in photographing complete strangers, but what the heck would we do with those pictures anyway if they're not going to be used for our class website? i wouldn't be able to photograph most of my classmates if i was to compete...it was hard to get everyone while being a spectator/class photographer because they were competing at the same time or almost going to compete. i think there were about eleven people from my class that competed and most of them competed in two events - one for kata (self-defense moves...that you do alone) and sparring. i didn't photograph three people in kata and one person in sparring. anyway, my karate pictures can be seen here. |

| because i'm being lazy, visit my blogspot (http://photosbyanastasia.blogspot.com) to view my photos from the pacific of the aquarium. also, if you see a word or a few words in this color, it might be a link to a website (for more info on something). |

| i went to a children's halloween portraits session yesterday for a photography group from meetup. there were about five to seven photographers and 15 to 20 kids ranging in ages between five months to five years old. i only managed to photograph eleven kids. some of them were running around to play or they ran away because they were camera shy or just shy around strangers. i didn't bother trying to photograph every kid that was there because i got stressed trying to photograph the ones that i did get to. i had fun, but i was also stressed. so you can see pictures here: http://anastasia.zenfolio.com/f968731578 |

i haven't paid for any of my race photos. i don't know if i want to pay $24.99 for each. these were "stolen" in the "order review" from the shopping cart right before checking out and paying for it. if i order/buy the photo, i basically will get a larger file so i can print it out for 8x10s or something. i don't want to make prints. i just want a small sized photo for web use to share with people. the train 4 autism charity organization (whom i helped raised money for while training) wants a race photo of me to add to their newsletter, but this picture isn't big enough. i realize that i'm being cheap, but am i being selfish because i don't want to pay the money to have a slightly larger photo for the charity organization? |

| oops, my bad. i forgot to put up a post about my photo session from last weekend. the theme was "engagement sessions". six models and only two of them are a real couple (and they're getting married at the end of next month!). the other models were pretending to be couples and pretending to like each other. mel and carolina (who are a real couple): http://anastasia.zenfolio.com/p742393244 kawika and shannon: http://anastasia.zenfolio.com/p795175545 doug and amanda: http://anastasia.zenfolio.com/p857584741 someone on facebook asked about a black and white photo from one of these sets and how the photo looked in color. so here is the colored version you're asking about....
this saturday, i will be doing a children's halloween portraits session with the photography club from meetup.com. this will be fun since i love photographing children and i will remember to put up photos from that! |
